Our Cleaning Commitment

Cleanliness is obviously super crucial these days, now more than ever. Here’s a breakdown of what we’ve done as a result of COVID-19 to help you feel safe in our vans.

Basic Changes

  • “The Power of One.” In Vancouver, for the foreseeable future, we will not outsource the cleaning of the inside of vehicles, linen washing, exterior vehicle washing, or vehicle pick-up and drop-off. It will all be done by the same person (Me! William Jarvis, Founder. Thanks COVID!). This will eliminate any additional interaction with the vehicles by others so you can rest easy that Dirty Mike & The Gang haven’t been hired to help us out.

  • Mandatory 24-48 hours between rentals to ensure ample time for thorough cleaning.

  • Rubber gloves and mask worn for cleaning and pick-up / drop-off.

  • Multiple towels and cloths used when washing / wiping

  • Keeping a spare vehicle on-hand in case there’s a need to quarantine or isolate a particular van.

  • All linens are washed on “Sanitize” high-temp cleaning cycle (+2hr) with environmentally friendly detergent and bleach added.

Interior Cleaning

Each of our campers are thoroughly cleaned between every rental. This includes washing, vacuuming, general wipe down, and sanitizing. For most surfaces, where applicable, we use a 20% bleach mixture.

Here are the key touch-points (adopted from vehicle rental leaders in the industry) that we’ll be sanitizing in addition to general cleaning:

  • Key / key fob

  • Steering wheel

  • Steering column

  • Seat belts

  • Center console

  • Door interiors

  • Door pockets

  • Interior door handles

  • Exterior door handles

  • Seat pockets / seat surfaces

  • Areas between seats & consoles

  • Areas between seats & doors

  • Cupholders / compartments

  • Instrument panel

  • Accessory panel / stereo

  • Rearview mirror / side mirrors

  • Visors / visor mirrors

  • Dashboard / vents

  • Gear stick / gear shift

  • Trunk release

Pick-up

My grandpa taught me the value of a firm handshake while looking the other person in the eye. While those lessons aren’t lost, they’re no longer a part of what we do during pick-up and drop-off.

At pick-up and drop-off, it will be contactless in that the keys will be at the vehicle waiting for you and you leave them in the same place when you return the van.

There are 3 (less than Oscar-award winning) overview videos already on the ‘Youtubes’ for you. All renters will be asked to watch these prior to departure so that there’s no need for in-person walk-throughs.

Contactless Drop-off

We’ll arrive to pick-up the van from you at the end of your trip in a contactless manner where you can leave the keys on the vehicle.

There’s no need for you to clean or sanitize the vehicle when you bring it back, however, we certainly do appreciate folks that leave the vehicles neat and tidy (95% of you - many thanks!). Any non-perishable items are donated or recycled appropriately, everything else gets tossed.
